Piteå has a paper plant. I lived near a paper plant when I was in high school, so I can tell you from personal experience that they can smell really bad and spew out particulates that coat everything. The Swedes are very keen on keeping a clean environment, though, and you really only know the plant is there if you see it. They also use the hot water that is a biproduct of the paper making process to heat the houses. (c)Bill Hall http://billhall.net
